"Continue to compete in major competitions".
KANELYA CARABIN (-57 KG)
"Right off the bat, I lead on points, and then I just managed the end of the round trying to get information on how she fights. I won four to zero, in control. Then she accelerated from the start, and I had more difficulty in neutralizing her, but also in implementing the tactics we had decided. I tried to gauge her but it wasn't enough and I lost fourteen to four. The third set started like the second one and my opponent took the lead at the beginning, before I came back in the last minute... but as she had scored the first one, I was eliminated. Really a close fight. The beginnings of competitions are always special but I felt good, all my family traveled from Guadeloupe to see me. The distance makes that they rarely come to see me, and the desire to do well, I had it! It gave me strength, and that's what disappoints me, because I simply had some difficulties with the distance from my opponent to be able to implement my techniques. Since the beginning of the year, I trained a lot until the podium in the Mediterranean Games. A defeat in the first round here is necessarily a little cold shower, but it motivates me more than anything else. Continue to work, to improve, to link the big competitions to go up in the ranking, and eventually think about the world championships."
