"Seeing the other fighters motivated us"
September 5, 2022

"My semi-final was a bit complicated, I didn't know how to put in place what I had planned. Knowing that I had already fought this opponent, I had a precise plan, while trying to attack as usual, and I finally countered more than taking the initiative. Physically, I was at one hundred percent, but the stress of a first competition in France won out. I also knew my opponent in the first fight, but after a slow start, I was able to take the lead. This time it didn't work, that's the game. The rest of the Grand Prix went well, especially as all categories were fighting in Paris, so watching the other fighters these last days motivated us even more. I am still relatively inexperienced on this kind of event as I have only been on the circuit since this year, and the World Championships in Turkey, which I followed with a tournament in Albania and then the Pan-American Championships in April, where I won my very first international medal. The confidence I gained allowed me to win the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Sofia before we focused on Paris. For that, I went to Mexico to train with Oury, to compete with the best in the world and to express the best of myself, but it was not enough today. Now focus on Manchester, getting experience at this stage of my career is a priority."
