"A little bit of madness here and there doesn't hurt," Cyrian told us after his victory in the final against the Tunisian Mohamed Khalil JENDOUBI.

"A Grand Prix at home is really special... There was the whole club, the family, and many people behind me to support me all day. France had never hosted such an event, and in front of the family I had to do well in spite of the pressure, a feeling that was simply exceptional. Like the other competitions, the objective was clear: to win! To take the fights without projecting too much proved to be imperative, and I am satisfied to have made beautiful fights and realized beautiful actions, which made vibrate the room. I'm usually in my bubble, but today it really carried me and made me proud. Getting excited because I took a hit in a fight has hurt me a lot in the past, so today it was "zen goal" from start to finish and I think it was the right strategy. The fights came down to details from the quarter finals on. I came back at the last second against the Korean, then by far against the Spaniard, and the final was decided in a few seconds... but I didn't let go until the end. A little bit of madness here and there doesn't hurt, but even if this victory is a strong message by beating the Olympic podium, I don't feel like I'm growing wings for all that. A victory like this one must be a milestone in a career, then we'll see what happens next. Two or three days of rest, and then it's off again! From now on, the best in the world also know what to expect, they know me and will analyze my fights, so my work will be decisive."
