Cyrian Ravet at the meeting
Five of them will compete today in the beautiful setting of the Palais des Sports in Levallois.
A somewhat intimidating context for the less experienced, which was perhaps a challenge for the young Maysane Kamkasoumphou (-49kg), the first Blue to fight on mat 1. Opposed to the Canadian Viviane Tranquille, 29e The world champion, the holder of the last European Championships, had a hard time letting go. She remained focused on the first round, which she lost 3-6, but the Canadian accelerated in the second round to win 10-3. A significant experience all the same for the fighter from Asnières who was strongly supported by her family.
The scenario was different for Kanélya Carabin in -57 kg, who remains on a podium at the Mediterranean Games. She managed the distance well against the Greek Fani Tzeli and won the first round 4-0. Less precise, she saw however the second round quickly slip away (4-14) against the 36e world. It all came down to the decisive round where the Frenchwoman, trailing 0-4, went after her opponent to go back to 4-4... Not enough and a bit annoying because she had this fight in her legs. She missed a few seconds.
Two female defeats, then a third for Rynald Saal (-58kg). The medalist of the Spanish Open 2022, led at the beginning, came back with a rhythm that gave him opportunities against the Brazilian Paulo Melo, world medalist 2019 and one of the references of the category with his sixth place in the world ranking. However, the South American took his marks and won the 1st round.er round 10-5. The scenario will be almost identical in the second round: the Frenchman did not demerit, but his opponent has the experience of big meetings and managed his round (9-5).
A bit frustrating for the French clan, who knows however that they can count on Cyrian Ravet, in the same category of -58kg. Facing Dmitriy Nagaev, 47e to the ranking, the double European champion, 5e of the last Grand Prix in Rome, gave himself air from the start with fire in his legs: 3-0, 8-0... he finished the round 8-6 by containing his opponent well, before a second round all in control also won 6-4. Solid!
