On their return from Italy, there was an air of satisfaction in the ranks of the Blues, with the victory of Magda Wiet Henin and the good French performances. However, it was a reduced French team that showed up at the Foro Italico in Rome, composed of six athletes and without Althéa Laurin (Olympic medalist), who had to withdraw after an injury sustained the week before during training.
In Levallois, Les Bleus will present themselves with a group expanded to eighteen fighters. For one of the main objectives of the year and two months away from the World Championships in Mexico, this second French stage will allow to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the team by lining up its stalwarts and its young invited athletes.

After Sofia, the French Para team was also smiling thanks to their beautiful medal harvest: 1 gold and 2 bronze. A nice surprise for some and a confirmation for others. The young Djelika Diallo had taken the lead in her category by winning her first international gold. The more experienced Bopha Kong confirmed her current form after winning silver at the European Championships in Manchester. Absent from the mats for medical reasons for several weeks, Zakia Khudadadi came back in force by winning bronze.
Our three Frenchmen continue their rise in the world hierarchy. Even if their motivation to fight at home is tenfold, the approach and the state of mind will be different and the pressure will be enormous.
